My Denver Coffee Shop Guide

My picks on where to sip, work and nibble in Colorado’s Capital.

Last weekend, I visited the state of Colorado for the very first time.  I honestly have no idea what took me so long to make my to my way there, but I sure am glad I had time to explore both Denver and Keystone. Several of my college friends now live in Denver and planned a ski trip to bring everyone together from across the country. Luckily, I get to work from home on Friday’s, and I took this opportunity to explore Denver’s impressive coffee (and kombucha – because why not!) shop scene while working.

I’ve ranked my favorite spots below to fuel up and work in Denver. If you are looking to peek into the hip food and beverage scene Denver has to offer, I highly recommend checking a few of these spots out. I would definitely say Amethyst Coffee Co. was my favorite all-around coffee shop. I was able to work with minimal distractions and the coffee was exceptional. They make their cashew milk in house, and I enjoyed it in both my coffee and oatmeal.

Amethyst tops my list for Denver coffee shops because outlets =are readily available (and I went on a Friday morning)! Amethyst is also extremely close to the Denver Art Museum, which has Dior: From Paris to the World on exhibit right now. Crema, in the River North Arts district, is another top contender. Their full-service kitchen, insanely strong nitro and strong Wi-Fi make this the perfect place to fuel up for a few hours of productivity.  Just make sure to be fully powered before walking in.

Across the street from Crema is ink! Coffee, another local roaster, with exposed brick and incredible nitro coffee. I went to ink! Coffee after my laptop died at Crema, and I’m so happy I stumbled upon this quaint little coffee shop. The staff at ink! Coffee was extremely welcoming, and I felt comfortable camping out here for a few hours before grabbing lunch at Avanti, Denver’s luxe food and wine hall. I rounded out my day of working and exploring by visiting American Cultures for a flight of kombucha. If you didn’t know already, I’m absolutely addicted to kombucha. When I heard about American Cultures and their flight of kombucha, it was a no-brainer that I had to make a visit. The shop was absolutely adorable and only several blocks from Avanti. I was immediately helped when I walked in and picked out 4 different kombucha flavors that I had never tried before. I felt like a kid in a candy store while I was sipping through each kombucha and finishing out my day of work. I highly recommend stopping by American Cultures whether you are a kombucha connoisseur or novice. They truly take the experience to another level.

Whatever local shops you decide to explore, I’m confident you’ll enjoy the slow pace and kind faces of Denver. Have a fantastic time!
