San Francisco power couple, Chef Ryan Shelton and Sommelier Madison Michael, carefully curated their own restaurant and market for food and wine lovers to appreciate the art of thoughtfully prepared food. Their restaurant, Merchant Roots, offers only 8 seats for their Tasting Menu experience at what they call “the Table.”
We were lucky enough to have the couple guide us through our dining experience and also give additional context behind the vision for their restaurant. The love and attention to detail that went into bringing Merchant Roots to life made me feel even more connected to the space. From the wool wall hanging (made by a local artist) to the floor to ceiling wine wall, every detail of this intimate space serves a purpose.
The experience to eat at a restaurant like Merchant Roots don’t come by often for a fashionista in her mid-20s. Tastings are so special because they encourage you to concentrate on the detail, craft, flavor, and art put in to each dish.
Reservations for The Table at Merchant Roots can be made on Tock here. You can mention me (in the Tock notes) to get a special surprise treat!
