After a long work day, there’s nothing I love more than a relaxing yoga flow to help me refocus and find stillness. I recently had the opportunity to visit Bluxome Street Winery (located in the heart of SOMA) for a special night of silent disco yoga. As soon as I heard about the combination of yoga AND wine, I knew this was not an event to be missed.
This was my first visit to Bluxome Street Winery, and I was blown away by the beautiful venue. The second you step into this winery, you feel like you’ve been transported out of the city. Bluxome Street’s tall ceilings and twinkling lights are truly magical and a perfect location for an evening yoga session.
Upon my arrival, I watched as other yogis set-up their mats in the cleared space in front of the stacked wine barrels for the evening’s practice with Outdoor Yoga SF’s founder, Julie Aiello. Julie helped each of us put on our silent disco headsets that would play music during the practice. Although I have attended quite a few silent discos in my past, this was my first silent disco yoga class. I loved how the headset blocked out other distractions from the room and helped me focus on music and cues from Julie. We ended the class with most restorative savasana pose of my life. There is something extremely peaceful about being surrounded by wine…
After our lovely practice, we were all treated to an incredible tasting by the Bluxome Street staff. This was the PERFECT treat after class. If you’ve never had a glass of wine after yoga, I highly recommend you try it here. I was a huge fan of their rosé, and my friend loved their pinot noir.
I left Bluxome feeling like I was on cloud nine. I’ve already returned once since this class because the space is so enchanting, and the wine is truly exceptional. Thank you to the Bluxome Team for having me. Can’t wait to be back soon.
